For over 18 years, we have been involved with Food for the Poor, an international relief agency that has been doing amazing work in the Caribbean and Latin America providing much-needed assistance for the poor. Please consider attending the upcoming building trip, which will take place over President’s Day weekend, or contributing so that we can continue our long-term commitment to the people of Portland Cottage.

Field Day

Ruppert Landscape’s Field Day is a day that enables the company and its employees to give back to the community, combining charitable giving, training and competition amongst branches. The company’s employees compete in a variety of events, some fun in nature, like relay races and obstacle courses; others testing their knowledge and skills, like identifying plants and operating heavy equipment; and others that will have a direct, lasting and high-quality benefit for the site. On September 18th, 2015, Field Day was held at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, DC, which houses over 500 retired veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and other conflicts around the world. Ruppert employees provided approximately 6,000 man hours and donated $150,000 worth of time and materials to renovate the campus, with site improvements including pavers, sod, perennials, grasses, groundcover, shrubs and trees.
