Overview
A National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) and Landscape Contractors Association (LCA) award-winning project. Westchester Rockville Station is a luxury apartment community located in the heart of Rockville, MD. The site affords convenient access to Washington DC, Bethesda and Rockville Town Center, but is intended to provide a verdant oasis in the midst of a bustling urban metropolis. This project consists of 192 units in a four-story, mid-density building surrounding a vibrant central courtyard. The beautiful Zen courtyard features a winding walking path through a mature, lush landscape, a koi pond, waterfalls, and brooks. Interspersed along the way are overhead trellises and park benches, culminating with a resort-style swimming pool, sundeck, and pavilion with outdoor kitchen. Mature varieties of October Glory Maples, Weeping Willows, River Birch, and Magnolias were blended to create the feeling of an established landscape and to shade buildings and conserve energy. Residents also enjoy the visual interest that is created by brightly colored Japanese Maples, Crepe Myrtles, and Dogwood.
